Very nice forge! what style of venturi burner are you using? I’m building my forge from used freon tanks for the shell, and I’ll be using the same sort of blanket insulation for my interior, though I may not use a castable material for the bulkheads. Thinking of fireboard instead. I also want to do a 2 burner version so I have a more even heat from front to back. Also working on making my old treadle hammer into a power hammer. Can’t wait to see what you make in that little beauty!
Thank you. I used 1″ tee that I cut down on a mill to get a 45, then I welded a extention at that point. I stepped down to 3/4″ using a reducer that I turned town in a lathe to get a more drastic reduction. I’m using a .35 welding tip on the inside. It will gets to full temp in 15 min. If I add some forced air at 30 psi it will melt the kiln shelf. I recommed using a wool stablizer. That way the fibers of the wool are some what contained. Thanks again for the comment and good luck.
Nice work man!
All it needs is some mean looking eyes welded on above that fire breathing mouth!
Gotta love the venturi burners!
Why venturi? Forced air is better in every way, unless you want to work without electricity.
